A tribute to the Golden Girls…we’ll miss you Bea and Estelle
You'll always be golden to us, Golden Girls!
What great people, what a great show. I remember watching re-runs of it as a kid, growing up. They were funny, but they also managed to deal with some pretty serious topics. When I was a kid my mom used to watch The Golden Girls most every Saturday night.
Estelle Getty, who played Sophia, passed away last summer, and we recently lost Bea Arthur, as well. Half the original cast is gone, now. But we still have the old shows to watch and enjoy. If you’ve never seen Bea Aruther, pre-Golden Girls, she did a really cool tv show called ‘Maude’, that ran in the 70’s. That’s where she picked up her reputation for being so darn out spoken and opinionated! It’s hard to find, these days. But I haven’t checked Amazon.com, yet!
To our Golden Girls now gone…we’re going to miss you!!
